Actually, if you do that, you run the risk of him getting fat, and that'll shorten their lifespans. I used to give my veilds plants a few times a week, and insects twice a week, and they were in great shape. You have to very careful with females, they'll lay too many eggs if they eat too much. Too much for a female should, also, be too much for a male. With males you will not see a clutch of 2 or 3 times the natural amount of eggs, like you see in females, but you'll see fat hanging out of the back of his casque, and the sides will bulge out a lot. I have been so caught up with my deremensis's mouth problem, I have neglected to moniter my veild's intake of food. and he is way too fat, he's going to start eating greens and fruit this week or no bugs for him....got spoiled when I ws starting my waxworm colony...It's amazing how quickly those things can put weight on them.
