Hi- The aquarium will work as long as it has an aluminum screen top. But the crickets will crawl up the sides where the silicone is and that can be a problem. I use 16 gal Rubbermaid tubs with a large hole in the lid, covered with aluminum screen. Hope this helps!

:i have a 20 gallon reptile aquarium i was plnnig on using for a gecko but my wife tells me one thing at a time. so it's all about my "soon to be" chameleon. i pretty much have the cage set up and the bugs worked out(i have a little problem with humidty but i'm working on that right now. i think a mister will fix that)but still need to get a place for the crickets. i was looking at the normal rubberamid tote but thought i might be able to use this reptile aquarium as a cricket "keeper" instead. can i use the aquarium to house cricket or is it not suitable?
