In Reply to: Pine shavings in my crix tank?? Please read posted by lele on May 08, 2003 at 12:15:34:

:I just use paper towel so the crix have something to cling on to and you can crumble and toss for cleanup. Plain cardboard boxes are good, too.

::Keep your cricket tubs clean and use no substrate. It's a miserable mess to try and clean crix with any substrate. The dust from the pine will also cling to your crix and therefore be ingested by your chams. The pine oils themselves are deadly to the crix and your losses will be greater.

::I keep 7000 crix a week on no bedding in two different large sweaterboxes. Yes I have to clean them at lease twice a week to keep them clean and odor free. It's a lot easier to harvest them for feeding this way also.

::Just my 2 cents.
