In Reply to: Crickets Stink!!!!!! Need Advice....read on posted by jsm on May 02, 2003 at 15:50:05:

i keep 1000 crickets at a time and i just started using 'white pine bedding' (the stuff you buy for hamster and gerbils) and it's working great to keep the smell down. weird situation though, the crickets seem to turn themselves upside down in the shaving and have a hard time getting back over. i have the standard egg crates stacked vertically on one side to 'house' the crickets. i wife calls them the 'cricket condos'.

:I know almost all these forums use crickets for feedings so I am posting on a few different forums (so I apologize for the repeated post for those of you who skip frm toads to geckos to newts etc) What can I do to keep my crickets from smelling so bad. I have them in tupper-ware with holes. I feed them veggies, fish flakes, oatmeal, fruit, whatever. And even if I clean there 'house' every day, they always STINK sooo bad. They are dirtier than any animal I have every had!!! Ewwww help!!!! Do you guys have any secrets you do?
