Hi John,

Thanks for your comments! Frasier already seems to really like this new set-up, even with just the one branch to bask on. So far, he has spent most of his day at the highest point in the cage, completely sunfished under his basking light.

We had taken temp measurements from that bulb (using a very creative set-up with a tripod... LOL) before even setting up that cage, so we would know where to put the basking area, which reaches 102F (that's when the room temp is 74F).

This is the first time we've seen him bask as much as he's been doing. In his old cage, he used to climb and walk on his screen ceiling a lot, and whenever he would be on his basking branch and the temp went over 95F, he would gape, which is why we always tried to keep it lower than that. Now, he spends most of his time in the hottest spot in the cage, at the very top of his branch and completely sunfished under his lamp. So I guess that is definite proof that his old set-up was far from adequate!

Will definitely keep you posted on his progress, but it's definitely looking good so far. :-)

Thanks again!

Julie and Justin :-)

:Hi- I agree with you this setup looks alot better then the old one for your veiled chameleon. The one bulb looks to be enough light for the whole cage! Check his basking spot make sure it is around 95-105F. It will be complete with the addition of the live plants, and some bio vines. Keep us posted!
