Hi- Unfiltered natural sunlight is the best light you can give. Mercury Vapor bulbs are the best indoor lighting you can use! I use them on all my panther cages. If you need extra heat durring the day, you can use just a house hold light bulb with the wattage you need, just dont use it at night. Or you can use a ceramic basking bulb, if you are worried about the bulb breaking! San Diego is great, I live here too.

:My male vieled is outside every day from early morn. til dusk. I live in N.San Diego County, just beyond June Gloom range for any locals information. On Extremly rare rain days I suplement heat light, 100 watt powersun merk. vapr. in an indoors setup.question:For the small amount of hours under artifical light(trust me,seems like never)when he is OUTSIDE under natural sun and I just need to bring temp up some, could I use an under $10 repti light? I dont know spectrum stats but think I only need heat in my situation!?! STNMAN HD M/C TECH
