I don't know how useful this info will be to you since it pertains to iguanas, but this is what I did for my male ig's terrarium: the bottom of his terrarium is a big plastic tub and the entire terrarium sits on a 1' high cabinet, so all I did was drill a 1" hole right in the middle of the tub and placed a bucket inside the cabinet, under the hole. We have found this works great for draining excess water from misting and also makes cleaning a breeze, which is especially difficult with a large iguana (they poop a LOT and are messy eaters). We use a big garden sprayer to pressure-wash the walls and branches, everything collects at the bottom (including feces and bits of dropped food) and then can be evacuated through the hole and into the bucket.

:I read a lot about people having "drainage systems" which allow them to mist a bit heavier without worrying about flooding. Does anyone have any ideas (or web pages) for a cheap DIY drainage system?
