It is very important to get him in a screen cage. Glass tanks often leave to resperatory problems. Now, what i'm wondering is why would you want to put him in a screen cage and lay the cage down sideways? You want the cage to be as tall as possible so you would want to stand it up straight. For example the avg. cage size most of us use is 48x24x24. It's basically a 24" square that is 48" tall. This would be Ideal for you cham and can be found at many reptile sites on the net for 100$ or so. This will be perfect for your cham, even when he is full grown.
