Each chameleon seems to have his own personality. I have two male panthers a female panther and a female veiled. All have their own personality and each one accepts different amounts of handling. One of the male panthers really hates to be handled. I got him at a very young age and he has always hated it. He always puffs up and opens his mouth. I just laugh and think it's cute that he thinks he's such a tough guy! Even when I offer him treats he takes them and then threatens me again. For whatever it's worth look on the bright side. The feisty ones always seem to be the healthiest ones. I wouldn't push the issue too much and just accept him for who he is. Who knows with time and patience he may come around and settle down.
