it's weird, i also used to have problems keeping my humidity up, but now, with 3 cages, i have to watch to make sure it isn't too high. i have 3 cages, in a row, with 1 live tree in each cage (ficus and hibiscus). i mist multiple times a day (4-5) and i run just a vaporizer and i can maintain 80-90%, if i wanted to. i usually keep it around 75-80%, but i'm even going to drop that down a bit more now. one thing you can do is cover the sides of the cage with something to hold the humidity in a bit better. i have 2 veiled cages and 1 panther cage, so i put the panther in the middle and hung white towels between the cages, closer to the panther cage, as visual barriers, but they also help to keep the humidity in the panther cage just a bit higher. my chams are also in their own room (extra guest bedroom), so i can maintain higher levels in there a bit easier. is your cage in a larger room? btw, my cages are all 24x24x48 and full screen.
:wow -- how do you keep that level of humidity in a screen cage? we keep our panther in a 30x16x16 (inches)and are having a heckuva time getting the humidity up. we've got schefflera, pothos, and dracaena plants also. nothing seems to work -- we're stuck in the 30-40 range; we mist as much as possible 3+ a day.
