Weird blotch on my Panthers side

My panther has a weird blotch on his side. When my lizard is brightly colored, the blotch is black. When my lizard turns dark, the blotch turn bright. It is a bit weird. The panther is 12 months old. The blotch is not normal, its not a normal spot, and it doesnt coincide with his skin colors. I was told that this happens when they reach sexual maturation. Can anyone please offer me some suggestions. This is not a burn mark, I dont believe its a fungi. YOu may email me at hredder1@aol.com. I would appreciate your help on this guys!!!
