hey there. we have a young panther who did the eye bulging/sucking-in thing, too. he would also rub it on a vine (which was horrifying to watch). when his appetite and activity dropped, we rushed him to the vet -- we were told his overall body weight was good, and that nothing seemed wrong with the eye, although the sucking in and bulging out movements were odd. he spent a few nights there for observation, and he gradually started eating again -- we found out that because we didn't have a red light to transmit heat at night, our screen cage environment dropped too much at night (65-70 F). once we installed a night heat lamp, his behavior greatly improved -- and he started shedding the next day. SO, maybe your guy is about to shed, which causes him to feel "itchy." i dunno. i hope this helps. take care )
