thanks. maybe it's a ploy to get us to plunk down 50 bucks TWICE a year, then! everyone, even my vet, said replace it after six months. :)

:The Active UVB Heat buld does put out UVB for a year, it is just a smaller amount than if it is new. The amount of UVB output is still greater than a ReptiSun or ReptiGlo bulb even after 1 year of use. The UVB also travel farther into the tank.
