Although I don't have any suggestions as to WHY your little fella passed over...I would think that the "bruise" on his face is actually caused by blood pooling. It would of pooled in his face and head from him hanging upside down, the blood darkens as it is deprived of oxygen, taking on the appearence of a bruise.
In humans its called liver mortis, as the blood pools take on the colour of liver against our skin, and is at it's darkest about 10 hours after death.
I wouldn't think that that had anything to do with the cause of death, it's just an after affect of death itself. Not very reassuring either way, unfortunately.

and I want to say that I'm sorry to hear about your little one dying!!

::Hey,

::I just went downstairs to mist and feed my chameleons, and I found my little 5 week old guy, Jango, hanging upside down by one leg, dead.
::He had good temps, foliage, plenty of food, good supplements; basically a fool-proof setup where nothing could go wrong.
::The odd thing is this: he had what looked like a bruise from one eye right across his nose to the other eye. I checked on him this morning when I turned his lights on and he was fine sleeping under a leaf, and I didn't mist him this morning so I don't think he could have suffocated.

::Has anyone seen this before? I'd like to find out the cause of death so I know what went wrong and how to prevent it in the future.
