thx for shedding some light on this. Im going to the petstore tonight to purchase some more hex aquariums. I used to have them in a 2X2 reptile enclosure that had about 7-8 potted ficus like trees. Thats when i first noticed them dying so i moved them back to the 10 gallon. no improvement so i moved them to the screen.

:Crikey! You are running a serious stress house there! Especially in the hex aquarium there is nowhere to hide. The babies are in each other's faces during all waking hours. Get one of those hex aquraiums per baby and you would be okay (until they grew out of them). The screen enclosure has the same problems. Even though it is larger there is only one basking area and not a number of seperate areas suitable for chameleons to be happy. You will eventually end up with about two babies - one in the screen cage and one in the hex cage. And the one in the hex cage will soon outgrow it's home.
:That hex cage is actually a nice enclosure and you could do well with it if you could get one for each baby and put visual blocks between them.
:The photo with the injured baby was hard to make out because of the focus. You must have just misted the cage as it was quite wet. As long as the cage dries out in an hour that is fine, but don't let it be constantly swampy inside. I don't know what to say about the injury. From what you said before I was wondering if it could be fighting. Injuries on the back could be from getting too close to a spot lamp. Injuries on the foot are a common problem with fighting.
:I don't see much with the male picture to tell me why he would be on the ground. Reasons could be he is intimidated by something he sees (back to that poster again...)or that he is feeling sick. Do you notice anything else like sunken eyes or uncoordinated movements?
:Bill Strand
:PS. You might want to resize those images in the future. Those not lucky enough to have DSL/cable modems may grumble a bit at the size and download time!
