:Has anyone ever heard of veileds running loose in Winter Springs, FL? I found my Chameleon her walking across a high way about a year ago now.. It's crazy all the exotics around here!

It was probably just an escaped pet. It's pretty unlikely that veileds are breeding in FL like the green iguanas are.
I've heard of some "non-native" exotics being found here in Central FL but it's nowhere near as bad as south FL.
There is a big importer in Hallandale, FL that is notorious for letting animals escape. In one day I found a plumed basilisk on the drive through sign at Burger King and a leopard tortoise in a vacant lot along Hallandale Beach Blvd. (how does a tortoise escape?)
A friend of mine found a prehensile tail skink in a neighbor's yard in the early 90's. Earlier this year, I went on a snake removal call in Orlando and found a 3' Colombian Tegu.
It makes for some interesting herping but it's probably not too good for our native wildlife.
Chris
