Brian,
Thank you for taking the time to provide some background information as to the outburst that we all saw at the Tues. night meeting.
I have been on and off a member of the CFHS for the last 4 years, this is the first that I have seen of the under lying problems. I don't think I would ever be part of a board, because of this clash of personalities. I give you all credit for the jobs you are doing.
As a member, my main concern is to see that the club grows and does well. I really agree with you that NO questions are out of bounds when it comes to decisions for the club and where THE CLUB'S MONEY is going. All accounting is an exacting record keeping job.
Board member positions, and the amount of work that they do for that position, are for the love of the group, not financial gain. I do not think that there should be a fee paid to write the newsletter. Or if there is, then we should have bids made and have a professional printer/graphic artist layout the newsletter.
Finally, if the accounting is not right-on, for whatever reason, the the person in charge is accountable. I feel that Ray should immediately be removed from the position of treasurer. I would fear that his time left would lead to greater losses for the club. With the up-coming CFHS Show, I would feel better if I knew that all the money made at the show was going into the club funds.
Also, all money spent on items to be used for club business, belong to the club! All items should be tracked down and returned when an individual leaves the club. PERIOD!
Thank you to all those that have served on the board, but when things go wrong- they need to be delt with quickly.
