The Humane Society I volunteer at has the same problem. They have tried to get me to be a board member for years. I wont do it because of the bickering and fighting. It got so bad that
certain board members had to hire attorneys. Somewhere in the shuffle, the welfare of these poor animals got lost in a
cloud of hatered and accusations. I still do volunteer work, fostering,
fundraising, education, goodwill, adoptions, etc, however, I really want no part of "the board".
Now, about Tuesday nights meeting. Even being a new member, I could feel something in the air that wasnt right from the day I started going there. I love going to the meetings and I dont get out much, so I really look forward to my one night a month at the herp society. I always bring my son with me who is 10. I feel he learns alot. He is an honor roll student and I want to enhance he education in any way I can. CHILDREN DO BELONG AT THESE MEETINGS!!! Personally, I think we need more kids at our
meetings. I think we should have a challenge to see which of our younger members can bring the most guests!!
As far as the money, if you smell smoke...there's usually a fire.
OK, I will get offmy soap box now.
