Trying to tell type with carpets is one of the most difficult things about this species. Sometimes you can get an idea by what the previous owners called him, scale count, color, and size.
Of course he's a bit too small to be certain of his size or adult coloration, and there are mixed views on the validity of scale count.
I was hazard a guess at him being a Coastal Carpet. If you baught him as a Queensland Carpet, Coastal Carpet, or just a Carpet python I would say that chances are even better that it is a Coastal Carpet.
