Mike,
My 8 month old was pretty constipated about two months ago and here is what I did-Kept the enclosure humidity at >70%, soaked in warm water every other night for 20-30 minutes and gently massaged the last 1/3 of its belly towards the cloaca. Urates came out hard and dry, then came the rest (it was alot!) the next day. I had a repeat episode two feedings later and did the same thing successfully. My JCP defecates regularly now.
