Now that I think about it, I found a sheet of B/B Birch laminated plywood for about $29 at Home Depot.
B/B for birch laminated plywood means some minor knots and defects on both sides. But the B side on the plywood was actually nicer than the A side on most of the AC plywood I've used.
Otherwise, I can find 3/4" laminted plywood for $33 to $40. I don't think the BB birch is very common.
In case I've not explained this early, the letters are a grade given to the quality. So AC plywood is "A" on one side and "C" on the other.
But an A side on one type of plywood can actually be less desirably than the B side of another type. That's what happened with the BB Birch veneer.
The $33 to $40 plywoods will be AA plywood.
