The envirotex would probably go a lot farther if you stained, and then top coated with waterbased poly.

That would fill up a lot of the grain and make the products go farther.

I know there are epoxies that are fairly clear that go a lot farther. Perhaps the envirotex would go farther if you brushed it on?

Most of my experience with with pool epoxy paints. I painted a lot of exhibits with those and only had 4 gallons.

But it's not clear.
