Yes, I have considered that.

The only come in grey so for aesthetic reasons they'd have to be installed outside the cage. But this would be desirable for cage cleaning as well so it's hardly a problem.

It certainly would work great for racks.

The biggest problem for me is that I want to build boxes that I would mount onto real-wood face frames. This will give sturdy up the front of the cage and allow me to use sliding glass track. It also will look nice.

The corner angle will make that application for difficult so I'm looking into other options.

Unfortunately countersunk rivets only go down to 1/8" diameter. So I either have to deal with slight bulges or the rivet heads being exposed.

I think the 3/32" rivets will be easier to work with so I'll probably experiment with that.
