If the barn stays the same heat as outside and cools off at night you'll have a lot of work to do to make this safe for the snake. That tells me the barn is quite open with no sealed off rooms.

Outside summer temps in Louisiana will kill the snake. There is not doubt about this.

You'll basically have to build a room within the barn and then aircondition it and heat it.

You're probably looking at almost $1000 if my perception is correct.
