I'm building a 2'x2'x18" melamine cage to house a young burm until she's ready for something larger. I'm not decided on hinged or sliding glass doors yet, but my main problem is heating it.
My ideas for heat are these:
1) A strip of 11" flexwatt stapled along the bottom of the cage on one side.
2) A strip of 11" flexwatt running along the back.

The bottom of the cage will be 3/4" melamine, while the back will be 1/4" hardboard.

Which idea do you think would work better?
What are your preferences on types of doors? I'm debating between sliding glass, a framed door hinged, and the lexan hinged alone as a door.
