Well, I guess my confidence in my "tame" snake that had "bonded" with me was a little shattered last evening.....she grabbed my hand while she was in my living room. I have a lot of other pets, so I'm sure it was in response to smelling something else and seeing the movement of my hand. The ironic thing was that this was the first time I've videotaped her - was going to show my family back home. I've had her out so many times and nothing has happened, but this time it was all caught on film "Come on Pandora, lets show everyone Dad's cute snakie poo." SNAP! Maybe she just hated the annoying reference!

Just to be safe I went to the ER for a tetanus shot and they also cleaned out the wound and prescribed antibiotics. Is there anything else to be concerned about? Since the snakes are illegal here, I told them it was my friends. They said to inquire about its vaccination record. Snakes don't get routine vaccinations like dogs do, do they?

All in all it was an interesting experience that I hope doesn't happen again.
