:If there is no discharge from the sinus or mouth area you may need to look towards a fungus. Some snakes will develope problems like that prior to full blown mouth rot. Almost like athletes foot of the scales caused from rubbing, burrowing in wood chips etc. and then it works into the sinus area and then progresses into mouth rot.
