skin grown over bullsnakes nostrils

Angel has a great appetite and this feeding he does not want to eat. he looked different then I noticed that skin has grown over his nostrils...he did have them. Or I'm I remembering it wrong? He doesn't appear to be lacking air...but he does seem tempermental right now. I thought it could be because he is an adult now and wants to mate and I do not have a female at present. Any suggestions???
