I never tested it personally. Vermic can be made (naturally) from a wider source of parent material than perlite can. That wider source is reported to result in a larger variability in pH of the resulting material than is "possible" for uncontaminated perlite. That's why I state that the Ph on vermic is more variable than perlite. I guess I should say "vermic can be more variable than perlite naturally." I think this is why some clutches just don't hatch.......
Even if the pH values weren't different, I was never happy with pure small grained vermic, but larger chuncks can be HARD to find.
