I am right there with ya brutha! I use newspaper and it has been awesome. I am a freak when it comes to keeping my cages clean. You take out the newspaper when they crap on it, wipe off the cage, and your cage is totally clean. I do like aspen, but with this, there is no dust and no possibility of any getting stuck onto food items for accidental ingestion. I do have rocks and branches too, to make it somewhat natural looking amidst the clinical look, which I don't actually mind.
Best thing about using newspaper and paper towels, there is no " snake room" smell. My snake room has no odor!~
