As a fellow teacher, I can offer some possibilities:

1) other morphs of corns or other ratsnakes
2) ball pythons (captive bred!)
3) Dumeril's boa
4) Children's Python
5) Spotted python (similar to above)
6) Rosy boa
7) Milksnakes (I personally love the tri-colors)

BTW, the cornsnake *is* both semi-arboreal and a constrictor, but I'm guessing you were referring to the boas/pythons..
