A 6ft X 3ft pen would be way too small for ten adult box turtles. A general rule of thumb is to give each adult box turtle 16 square feet of room. Using that rule, a 6ft X 3ft pen would only be large enough for one adult box turtle.

:Hey! I am planning on building an outdoor boxie pen. I heard from several people a 6ftx3ft could hold 10 turtles? Can you confirm that? Also, could the pen ground be dirt/soil ground with shrubs I plant, or must it have grass? Any info on keeping turtles would also be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
