The area around the oak tree will be the "expansion" of my turtle pen. It will go from the spot where you see the railroad ties all the way up to the chain link fence. This will approximately triple the size of the pen. While I'm waiting on getting the 8 more railroad ties I need, I'm prepping the ground with lots of leaves, top soil, and other decaying organic material to attract worms.Everyone here should know that earthworms are a box turtles favorite food :)
The plants you see are some type of wild plant that grows around my pine trees. It grows really fast and spreads to make a thick cover which makes for good hiding places, especially for the younger turtles.
