set-up for egg laying

as im sure you know, i am anticipating my female eastern to lay eggs. i put her in a deep, large rubbermaid-type container and filled it up with soil from outside. i also set up a clamp light and have it beaming onto part of the container with her water dish on the other. is this set-up alright? are there any other suggestions, or am i totally wrong in what i am doing? thank you in advance for any help you can provide!!!
