So, one day at my fave pet store of old, I looked over a strange little boa billed as an African Sand Boa (it was 1968--what did we know?). I liked it, and decided to get one someday. Someday turned out to be Y2K, and I finally got my Rough-Scaled Sand Boa from Chris Himstedt at Reptile Shed. She is a sweet, if not very active little tubesteak of a boa, content to stick her head out from under her bark once a week to be fed. I love the strange little boas that seem so far from the "concept" boas--the Bci and Bcc. I'm planning to add some North American Rubber Boas one day, too.
