It is my experience that they never seem to drop their offspring in any specific place no matter how much time and effort you put into preparing a special place for them to drop. I have used heavy "shop" towels(usually come in blue) that I get from Kmart or Pep Boys. Just keep them moist. They've always worked well for me and they clean up easy and you also don't get ink like you do from wet newspaper.
