Hello all,
My husband and I are planning on getting a lizard for "Our" oldest son, he is 4(will be 5 in Oct.) There are also 3 other boys in the house, 12, 10, and almost 4. We have been thinking about a bearded dragon, as they seem to take handling well, and are larger and not so fragile. I will be the primary caregiver, but T-man will be learning responsibility and help out. Are there any other lizards that my husband and I should check into before deciding on a BD? I love cresteds, but thought perhaps with a four year old, they would not be the best choice. T-man (almost 5 yr.old) is very gentle with animals especially small ones, as every summer we have a huge collection of frogs and toads in and out of the house. He has learned that animals can not be squeezed or handled roughly or they will get hurt. Our youngest is still learning, but I don't think he will be handling it much at all since bugs, lizards, crawdads, and other things tend to be too creepy crawly for his tastes. Any advice on which lizard would be the best would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nikki
