I'm looking at getting a lizard, I've never owned one before, and know very little about them. I'm doing my research well in advance, so I know what I'm getting in to :)

I would like a nice friendly lizard, that can be handled (my girlfriend won't have a pet you can't hold - go figure). I would like something easy to take care of, and that tends to stay healthy.

We had looked at a Mali Uromastyx, and thought that might be a good place to start, but some advice would be appreciated.

Also, what equipment would I need - lights, heaters, bedding, etc.

Thanks in advance
