For snake I would have to say Ball Python. They are like owning a larger snake in a more compact size. My fav snake for just looking at is a gaboon viper.

Lizard wise, I LOVE bearded dragons. However Blue tongue skinks are really cool owning wise as well. Looking at I would say some of the iguana species are WONDERFUL however they make hard beginner pets..
