:I've been wanting to purchase a couple veil chameleons. I've never had a lizard before so I decided to do some research and learn more about them. I picked up a book at my local pet shop and it really made it seem as though they are wicked hard to take care of and don't usually live very long. Is this true? I really like the way the chameleons were so chill and not like running all over the place smacking into the glass at the pet store. Any suggestions on other lizards that might be better if chameleons aren't recommended?

>chameleons can be quite difficult for the novice keeper,if you must have one do all the research possible know all you can about the animal before buying and have the enclosure setup a few days before purchasing to make sure you can meet the needs of the cham. like humidity, heat, cage furniture. plus veileds usually are related to as a "showpeice" they really dont like to be handled and sometimes forcing handling on the animal will cause stress and ultimatly kill it. so please do all the research you can on the animal and good luck! remember buying any animal means you take the responsibility of another life into your hands.
