lets try this again, with out hitting enter key...
Im not sure if you are a beginner to reptiles, however in looking for a sociable reptile, I strongly suggest either a blue tongue skink or a bearded dragon. I have had experience with both of these and while I like the BTS better, both are wonderful animals, very social, very tolerant of handling and reasonably basic care requirements. Monitors, tegus ect... can be quite a handful...

::I have been looking into getting a lizard for a long time now. I have been doing a lot of research (mainly on monitors) and reading these forums on and off. I was wandering if I could get suggestions on good lizards to keep. I really want something that is the most sociable with people as possible something I could hold and would be more of a pet than just a captive animal. I understand completely that I'm never gonna get a "doglike" kinda pet , so dont bother telling me that, I'm just looking for the closest thing to pet that I could get. Because from what I've read monitors are really alot more just captive wild animals than sociable types, the closest thing I could find would be an ackie. I really want something decent sized but not huge. I would be more than willing to do research on it. Thank you for your help
