I would suggest you do some reading on monitors in general, they are not for everyone but are fascinating animals. There is also many species you can choose from (large/small, colorful/not, aggressive/tolerant, etc.). Just so you have something to start with check out the Pro Exotics website at www.proexotics.com
A good "starter" monitor would be the Varanus Acanthurus (yellow or red ackies) the website above has tons of info on them...

:I'm not really a beginner I've had beardies amd I currently have tree frogs and a snake. I would like a lizard that is fun to watch. That is the most important requirement. I dont really care too much about size. A good temperament is preferred but not necessary. Maybe something that tolerates handling on occasion (not necessary). I really am open to pretty much anything I just want to get some info on some different lizards that are fun to watch so i can do some research.
