No offense but seven years old is very young to own a lizard. I agree that a puppy or kitten might be a more suitable choice. However, if your brother seems mature and responsible for seven, or has already owned and properly cared for other pets, there is no reason why he couldn't have a Leopard Gecko. As the older brother, you would be responsible for showing his proper care and making sure he has all of the supplies that the lizard needs. Also, Leos like fresh crickets and mealworms and a weekly run to the local petstore might be in your future considering he cannot drive yet. :-) I hope these ideas help.
