I've got a mali Uromastyx and just love him. Most enjoy being held (although my juvenile is not too keen...I'm hoping he comes around) and they are easy maintainence once you're set up. They don't require standing water, just a variety of "salads" and an occasional cricket or mealworm. I haven't seen any bigger than 2' nose to tail. Also, no odors. Before you decide on anything, DO YOUR RESEARCH on www.kingsnake.com, www.deerfernfarms.com or www.karnivor.com. Read on caresheets to know exactly what you are getting into. I strongly recommend getting from a breeder (middle website is great) or a very reputable pet store. Also, once you get your lizard, use the kingsnake forums to voice any concerns, questions or seek advice from current owners. I find it invaluable.
Good luck!!
