In that case, the uro might be an OK choice. Mine has always refused insects. They eat fresh collard, mustard, and turnip greens, a huge variety of fresh or f/t vegis, plus high-protein grains like bulgar (durham wheat), amaranth, and teff. They'll also eat birdseed. If they don't have insects, then the grains are needed as protein suppliments; Uros seem to like cracking the seeds and do well on them. They need lots of heat though, and aren't inexpensive to get set up.
