Don't worry Carol,

sometimes they don't poop for a few days.

When my beardie was a baby, he would poop on a regular (daily) basis.

Then when he started getting older, he would sometimes not poop for a day or two. (This also depended on the type of food he ate).

And sometimes if he's eaten really good, he'll poop twice in a day.

The latter caught me off guard one day, as I NEVER pick him up till AFTER he has gone to the bathroom. And when I placed him on my shoulder (which is where he always is), after seeing him go to the bathroom, he dropped a "funky McNasty load" right on my shoulder a few minutes later. Yuck!!! (And it seeped into my shirt and everything).

I wouldn't worry about it too much. But if it goes more than three or four days, then get him checked-out, as he may be impacted.

And as a closing thought, make sure that he has plenty of heat right after he finishes eating. (Under the basking light for at least an hour after he finishes eating). This helps them to digest their food, as well as keeping their metabolism up.

Best wishes...and I'll see yall on the new forum.

Toodle-Loo.

.:Does our Beardie have to do a poop everyday? He didn't poop today and I am wondering if I should give him anything special?
:He began to eat mealworms on Friday. Maybe that different kind of food would affect him? He continues to eat his peas and crickets. carol
