:Does anyone feed their beardies locusts as their staple diet? Would it be a bad idea. I was thinking of switching for a bit of variety. Also one of my girls isn't that good a hunter and I heard that they were slightly slower and easier to catch.

:Thanks

Hi Jen.

I was wondering about this, too. I had read somewhere that locusts could be fed to beardies. However, I've read in far more places that you shouldn't really feed beardies any insect that's bigger than the space between its eyes as it might lead to terminal ingestion (when food gets lodged in the digestive tract, which can be fatal). I'd personally be a bit cautious about feeding locusts to my beardy on those grounds....but I stand to be corrected if anyone knows better!
