Your right it doesn't hold water.....for incubation it's just the medium to hold the eggs above the water so to speak and so the environment remains moist. I've been using it for about 2 years now with a 99% hatch rate so I'm sold......
:So that's why we used Perlite instead of regular soil, as a side note.
::I'm not sure if this was just my experience, but my Botany class tried to grow cornplants in Perlite. They died within five days because it couldn't hold the water. *shrugs* Just a thought.
