This may sound weird, but I've recently heard of a rescued savanna monitor who was missing his front legs and the rescue made him a combination jacket-harness with the underbody of a toy wagon or car attached. Apparently it's put on him every morning and he scoots merrily around the rescue like nobody's business.
So if he's fighting to live, perhaps some inventing adoptor could come up with an idea for locomotion for him?
