Well, from what I have read, its kind of a split decision. Some people think that it can be very beneficial over sand due to the fact that it is not as harmful when eaten. But many other people say that it causes Impactation and the attractiveness of it to be eaten only increses this chance.

Substrate is really a personal thing ... I think my tank will be having green indoor/outdoor carpet
